FIFA has announced an agreement with YouTube to be the preferred platform for the World Cup to be held this summer in the United States, Mexico and Canada. With this commitment between the two parties, official media partners will be offered the opportunity to expand coverage of the competition through the platform.

“The multidimensional collaboration will reinforce the promotion of the competition through premium content on the respective official YouTube channels of FIFA and the audiovisual rights holders. Thanks to the collaboration with the audiovisual rights holders of the competition and with various creators, this historic alliance between the two organisations will provide the public with more options to enjoy the tournament,” says FIFA.

Rights holders will therefore be able to publish extended highlights, unseen footage, short videos and on-demand content on their YouTube channels to whet the appetite of YouTube users, in order to expand reach and global engagement.

“For the first time in the history of the competition, audiovisual rights holders will have the option to broadcast the first ten minutes of each match live on their YouTube channel, so fans can enjoy all the excitement from the first whistle. Official media partners will also be able to broadcast a selection of matches in full on the same channel, in order to reach a global audience and promote the competition in specific regions. They will also have more opportunities to monetise their platform content,” FIFA continues.

This collaboration will offer fans new ways to follow the competition, through premium content accessible on FIFA’s official YouTube channel

“FIFA is pleased to welcome YouTube as a preferred platform for the FIFA World Cup 2026. This agreement will enable us to reach fans around the world like never before, by promoting FIFA’s premium content and providing new opportunities for audiovisual rights holders and creators,” said FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafström.
