Five-time Masters winner Tiger Woods will be absent following his DUI arrest in Jupiter Island, Florida on March 27. Authorities reported that Woods was involved in a rollover crash, showing signs of impairment, including bloodshot eyes and extremely dilated pupils, while two prescription painkillers were found in his pocket.
Woods subsequently announced he would step away from competitive golf to focus on his health and treatment, marking a rare pause in the career of one of the sport’s most accomplished figures.
In addition to Woods, three-time Masters champion Phil Mickelson will also miss the dinner due to a family health matter. The absences of these two legends are significant, as both have played major roles in shaping modern golf and the history of the Masters.
McIlroy aims to honor golf legends despite their absence

“Unfortunately, there will be a couple of guys that won’t be in that room, which is a shame,” McIlroy said. “But I want to make sure that they’re acknowledged as well. They’ve been two of the greatest champions the Masters has ever seen.”
