Eli Manning blasts Jaxson Dart with strong statements: has their relationship been broken?

There is no doubt that Eli Manning is one of the most beloved players in New York Giants history. While the franchise also had the greatest defensive player of all time in Lawrence Taylor, Manning remains a fan favorite and has a strong chance of being inducted into the Hall of Fame this year.

Despite having some inconsistent seasons, Eli Manning owns something no one else can claim: he defeated Tom Brady’s New England Patriots in two Super Bowls. The most memorable came during the 2007 season, when the Patriots were on the verge of completing a perfect year, but a great performance by Manning and the Giants’ defense prevented New England from making history.

That Super Bowl was played in Phoenix, Arizona. The second came four years later, once again against a Patriots team that entered as the favorite. Even so, Eli Manning delivered another flawless performance in the game played in Indianapolis and, against Tom Brady, lifted the second Super Bowl of his career and the fourth in franchise history.

Eli Manning is an authoritative voice on the Giants

Eli Manning retired from the Giants after the 2020 season, handing the offense over to Daniel Jones, who showed flashes but ultimately failed to change the franchise’s direction. However, ahead of the 2025 season, the Giants selected Jaxson Dart in the first round, and it appears that with him, the team is finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel.

Jaxson Dart’s biggest issue is his risky style of play. He constantly seeks contact, which already resulted in a serious concussion in Week 10, causing him to miss a couple of games. Because of this, Eli Manning has warned Dart that he must protect himself and be available every week: “Obviously, the number one thing is he’s got to learn to be available every week,” the former quarterback said on ESPN’s Get Up.

If anyone understands the value of consistency, it’s Eli Manning, who played 210 consecutive games from 2004 to 2017. Including the playoffs, that total reaches 222 games. That’s why he knows how important it is for Jaxson Dart to be available every single week for the team.

In his rookie season, Jaxson Dart was outstanding, throwing 24 touchdowns and just five interceptions in 12 games. The problem was that he was frequently evaluated for possible concussions during games, and that is exactly what the franchise wants to avoid with its quarterback.
