Jake Paul and Eddie Hearn have settled their legal disputes in an unexpected settlement that defies all logic, paving the way for the eagerly awaited July 11 showdown: the third fight between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano

This fight, which promises to be epic, will be the result of the collaboration of these two boxing greats, ready to unleash a wave of excitement around the world. Katie and Amanda will not disappoint anyone

To tell you a little more about this case, we must go back to 2022, a legal battle between Matchroom Boxing, led by Eddie Hearn, and Most Valuable Promotions, led by Jake Paul, that erupted with a defamation claim

Jake Paul gets in trouble for opening his mouth

The lawsuit was triggered by Jake Paul’s incendiary statements in a 2022 chat with iFL TV, where he pointed out that Matchroom Boxing manipulated veteran referee Glenn Feldman with payments to favor its boxers on the scorecards.

Those words from Jake were direct because of the clash between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano in April 2022, as well as the triumph of Oleksandr Usyk over Anthony Joshua in August of that same year, generated mixed debates among experts

Feldman gave Taylor a 97-93, the widest score among the judges. In the fight between Usyk and Joshua, he was the only one who favored Anthony with a 115-113, although the split decision crowned Usyk as the winner.

Eddie did not sit idly by in the face of these accusations and together with Matchroom sued Jake Paul. They demanded damages in excess of $100 million

They reach an agreement and work together again

Despite the lawsuit still being in place, Jake Paul and Eddie managed to collaborate on the second fight between Taylor and Serrano, which took place in November 2024, as well as the third fight that was recently announced.

Yesterday, the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York dismissed the case and that seems to be the end of the matter between these two boxing personalities.
