Dr. Jesse Morse just gave bad news to Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley, stars of the Philadelphia Eagles

Even though the Philadelphia Eagles once again clinched the NFC East title, there’s no doubt they were one of the biggest disappointments in the playoffs, falling in the Wild Card round to the San Francisco 49ers. This outcome was somewhat expected, especially since the offense was stagnant for practically the entire season.

Jalen Hurts has not performed like in previous seasons, Saquon Barkley only showed flashes of what he did the previous year, and A.J. Brown spent much of the season frustrated and even had conflicts with Head Coach Nick Sirianni. Still, within the division, the Giants finished last, the Cowboys’ defense underperformed, and the Commanders were a failure-circumstances the Eagles managed to take advantage of.

However, when it mattered most, the Eagles disappointed in the playoffs, and the consequence was the firing of Offensive Coordinator Kevin Patullo, who had taken over the role after Kellen Moore left the previous season. In 2025, Philadelphia ranked 24th in total yards and 19th in points per game.

The Eagles missed the chance to hire Mike McDaniel

There’s no doubt about the talent the Philadelphia Eagles possess. Despite their offensive struggles in 2025, they have very talented players and are seeking an offensive coordinator who can get them back to the top. One major target was Mike McDaniel, the former head coach of the Miami Dolphins, but that is no longer possible.

Mike McDaniel is now the new offensive coordinator of the Los Angeles Chargers. Dr. Jesse Morse, a specialist in sports injuries, also commented on the situation and believes McDaniel made the best decision by choosing to work with Justin Herbert rather than with Jalen Hurts and the Eagles, or with Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

In this way, the Los Angeles Chargers made a smart move, convincing Mike McDaniel to work with Justin Herbert, who struggled last season under the previous offensive system. This struggle was evident in the Wild Card game against the New England Patriots, where Herbert was brutally hit and managed to produce only three points.

Greg Roman was fired from the Chargers as offensive coordinator after two consecutive seasons in which the team’s offense failed at critical moments and was eliminated in the first round of the playoffs. Now, with Mike McDaniel, the team hopes to turn things around.
