David Benavidez returns to his ‘most dangerous’ speech and claims that’s why no one wants to face him

David Benavidez has once again exposed what many in boxing already know, that Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarezcares more about business than boxing itself, and he did not tell any lies, at least not in the light of the facts and each of the Mexican’s steps outside the ring to get fights that leave much to be desired, such as the next one against William Scull in Saudi Arabia.

The problem is that despite the fact that he tells the truth, there are those who focus only on the fact that the ‘Mexican Monster’ is still bleeding from the wound and that his words are basically motivated by envy, especially the most recent ones against Terence Crawford, the Mexican’s imminent rival, who was able to get a fight against him despite the fact that he is 13 pounds below, and he is not wrong to have those feelings, because for years he practically begged for a fight with the Mexican, belonging to the same division.

‘Red Flag’ wants to beat his rivals in the ring

Today Benavidez is champion at 175 pounds, but not because he won in the ring, but because Dmitry Bivol vacated his WBC title and the organization gave it to him, and that is not the way to establish any supremacy, not for a boxer who perceives himself as the ultimate danger to his opponents, a fact he attributes to the fact that no one wants to face him, just like Bivol, of whom it is known today thanks to statements by Jose Benavidez to Fighthub, that “he did not last two rounds in sparring with his son” in the not too distant 2019.

Benavidez criticises boxing today, but wants to make history

Benavidez attended with Youtuber Mystic Zach to a long 16-minute interview published a few days ago on the platform and there he ‘unstitched’: “I feel like my name is not mentioned because I am the most dangerous fighter out there, but for the least money offered,” Benavidez said with great poise.

‘Red Flag’ questioned the fact that in modern boxing there are fewer and fewer who practice the sport for honor and glory, and a growing majority who do so for business, money and power, although he said he is aware that the dynamics are changing and it’s not that he wants to resist too much at the cost of sacrificing his dreams.

Benavidez remains convinced that he is the best opponent for Canelo, for the simple reason that in this fight the winner would be the public. “Because it would be the best fight in boxing, the most exciting. But Canelo wanted to fight someone who came from 147 pounds, a smaller guy,” Benavidez said

In the midst of so much negativity, anyone would feel frustrated, but not the ‘Mexican Monster’, who patiently waits for a turn that no one knows if it will come, but he does not do it sitting, nor lying on his laurels, because everything indicates that he already has a fight that will impose a great challenge, against Callum Smith, interim WBO light heavyweight champion, thanks to the efforts of Eddie Hearn.
