A well-known saying goes that ‘the donkey returns to the wheat’ when a situation that seems settled is repeated once again for no apparent reason or without contributing anything new, and the mere insistence is already irritating. That seems to be the situation of David Benavidez, who does not take his finger off the line of someday being able to face strong>Canelo Alvarez, who has already made it clear that he does not want to know anything about him.
The problem lies in the reasons that the Mexican uses to belittle him, something he has done for years without caring about the criticism he may face, who accuse him of being a coward for not choosing the ‘Mexican Monster’, who would be out of the ordinary with his rivals, whom Canelo’s detractors also describe as ‘bums‘, with proven reasons in light of reality.

Benavidez’s steps and Canelo’s refusal
Benavidez has done everything he can to make a showdown with Canelo a reality, moving up to light heavyweight, settling Oleksandr Gvozdyk and with it the interim WBC title, but none of that has worked and he is still being ignored by the Mexican fighter who is now preparing for his fight with Terence Crawford on September 13.
