Dak Prescott’s record isn’t a problem for Nick Sirianni, and his message could shake Dallas

The rivalry between Dallas and Philadelphia enters a new chapter this Sunday at AT&T Stadium. With the Cowboys desperate for a win, fans are clinging to one compelling statistic about Dak Prescott’s dominance over NFC East rivals. But Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni insists numbers don’t matter.

The Eagles-Cowboys rivalry spans 65 years, with Dallas leading the series 74-59. Although Philadelphia has won the last three meetings, one stat still fuels Cowboy Nation’s hope.

Prescott has been nearly flawless against division opponents at home. In eight seasons, the Cowboys quarterback has never lost a single game against NFC East foes at AT&T Stadium.

Overall, Prescott owns a 21-2 record against divisional opponents and is 6-1 against the Eagles at home. Yet Sirianni remains unfazed.

Nick Sirianni’s warning to Dak Prescott

At a recent press conference, Sirianni reminded fans and media that statistics don’t play the game.

“This 2025 Eagles team has never played at Dallas yet,” he told NBCS’ John Clark.

The Eagles’ passing offense ranks fourth in the league, powered by wide receiver DeVonta Smith and quarterback Jalen Hurts. Their pass defense is even stronger, ranked third and anchored by standout Quinyon Mitchell.

Still, Sirianni and offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo face a major challenge: the absence of offensive linemen Lane Johnson and Cam Jurgens, both crucial to protecting Hurts.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys have struggled with consistency. Their offense leans heavily on Prescott, while their defense lacked punch until the midseason arrival of Quinnen Williams at the trade deadline.

The Eagles will test Prescott’s NFC East streak

Philadelphia already proved they can beat Dallas, edging them 24-20 in the season opener. But that win didn’t come easily.

This time, the stakes are higher. With the NFL season entering its final stretch, the Eagles aim to cement their division dominance, currently holding an 8-2 record.

The Cowboys, sitting at 4-5-1, need a victory to keep their playoff hopes alive with a potential wild-card berth. For that, they’ll rely not only on Prescott’s home-field streak but also on his arm to deliver.
