Concern in boxing: Isis Sio remains in coma after brutal knockout in California

Boxing is going through a time of anguish after the serious condition of Isis Sio, a young fighter of only 19 years of age who is in an induced coma after suffering a hard knockout in a fight held in San Bernardino. The fight, organized by ProBoxTV, ended dramatically when Sio received an intense barrage of punches to the head from Jocelyn Camarillo, causing her to immediately fall to the canvas.

The impact was such that, according to reports, the young woman suffered convulsions after the knockout, generating scenes of high concern inside the ring.

Urgent transfer and critical condition

Sio was stretchered out of the venue and rushed to a nearby hospital near the NOS Event Center, where she remains under specialized medical care.

The promoter issued a statement in support of the boxer: “We pray for the speedy recovery of Isis Sio. Our thoughts are with her and her family at this difficult time.”

A background that aggravates the situation

The case has generated even more concern because, just days earlier – on March 30 – the young woman had already suffered another knockout in a previous fight.

This precedent reopens the debate on recovery times and safety protocols in professional boxing, especially in such young athletes.

Boxing on alert for fighter safety

The images of the fight quickly went viral on social networks, increasing concern in the sporting community.

While family, promoters and fans wait for her evolution, the case of Isis Sio once again highlights the importance of reinforcing protection measures in sport.

For now, the boxing world remains on tenterhooks, awaiting the recovery of a young woman whose career – and life – changed in a matter of seconds in the ring.
