Cody Bellinger is starting to show that he has come to the Yankees to honor his father

Although Cody Bellinger doesn’t want to admit it, at least not openly, the shadow of his father is very big and is one of his greatest tests to overcome as part of the New York Yankees. Cody has done so in his time in the Major Leagues, and is more than determined not only to overcome the fact, but with his effort to honor his father, his figure, weight and legacy.

However, when analyzing this ‘side’ of Cody Bellinger, it is also important to recognize that the player is destined to be bigger in the Yankees than his father Clay Bellinger, and his numbers come forward as his best argument in this his first season with the Bombers.

An anticipated ‘return’ to Yankee Stadium

Today Cody Bellinger returns to the house he used to walk around as a child and which was the springboard for his father to decide to mold him, to train him so that one day he would return to take over Yankee Stadium, but with sufficient arguments so that no one would even suggest that he was helped or used the benefit of his father’s name.

It is undeniable that Cody’s training style and work ethic is identical to that of his father, but enhanced and the Yankees will benefit from that process during the season that is about to begin.

The Yankees expect a lot from Cody and he from them

Cody Bellinger landed in the Bronx from the Chicago Cubs in an $80 million deal, and from the moment he signed it was known that the challenge was going to be enormous, both internally and in terms of the expectations to be met by the Yankees fans. He and his father were aware of this and prefigured it: “We both knew that I would probably be traded, but we didn’t know where. To be to the Yankees is great,” Cody said

The circle is about to close at Yankee Stadium and Cody Bellinger looks back at its corners, those places where he spent his childhood and which today will be full of cheers and applause in an early season that much is expected of him and is sure to satisfy.
