Clayton Kershaw sends a chilling reminder to MLB: The Dodgers’ reign isn’t over yet

While analysts and experts debate whether the Los Angeles Dodgers are ruining baseball>, the team ended its season in the best possible way with back-to-back World Series titles and a Shohei Ohtani who declared himself ready to win another World Series ring in 2026. The excitement in Los Angeles is still pulsing, and for good reason-they have the best team in MLB.

2026 will be very different for the Dodgers organization, especially because changes are coming, but also because a legend like Clayton Kershaw will not return after announcing his retirement, while predicting what will happen in the next campaign.

Clayton Kershaw wants another World Series ring… this time as a fan

Expectations will once again be sky-high. The Dodgers have the highest payroll in baseball, and no one can say they don’t have everything needed to pursue a third consecutive World Series championship. Kershaw predicts it-something that won’t sit well with more than a few.

“I know they’re gonna get one more next year,” Kershaw told fans at the Dodgers championship rally. “And I’m gonna watch, just like all of you.”

The future Hall of Fame pitcher announced his retirement in September, so he said goodbye in the best way possible-with a Dodgers victory parade in downtown Los Angeles, alongside his teammates after defeating the Toronto Blue Jays in Game 7.

This will be the final October of his 18-year MLB career, capping a journey in which he won three World Series rings.

“This is the perfect way to be done,” he told SportsNet LA on Monday.

Clayton Kershaw’s retirement means he will now spend most of his time with his family. However, Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman did not rule out the possibility of seeing him with the team in some role in the future.

No team has won three consecutive World Series titles since the New York Yankees dynasty (1998-2000), so it would be a perfect experience for Kershaw, who would live this milestone as a fan.
