The PGA Tour makes its return to Texas this week as the CJ Cup Byron Nelson tees off once again in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. The event will be played at TPC Craig Ranch, a course known for low scores, big names, and dramatic finishes – and 2025 is shaping up to be no different.

All eyes will be on local favorites Scottie Scheffler and Jordan Spieth, two former Texas Longhorns and Dallas-area residents, who are paired together for the opening two rounds alongside Si Woo Kim in the marquee group. Scheffler, currently the world’s top-ranked player, enters as the heavy favorite at 14-5 odds, while Spieth sits second on the board at 18-1.

The field also features defending champion Taylor Pendrith, recent Zurich Classic winner Ben Griffin, and rising stars Tom Kim, Sungjae Im, Jake Knapp, Byeong Hun An, and Sam Burns.

Scoring Frenzy Expected

TPC Craig Ranch has proven to be a haven for low scores since becoming the tournament’s home in 2018. Every winning score at this venue has been at least 23-under-par, promising a birdie-filled week. Expect aggressive play and plenty of red numbers on the leaderboard, with the mid-to-low 60s as the scoring norm.
