At just 15 years old, Charlie Woods, son of golf legend Tiger Woods, has been making waves in the junior golf scene.

His latest performance at the AJGA Team TaylorMade Invitational has garnered significant attention due to his unorthodox scorecard.

In the opening round, Woods carded a 70, featuring only three pars-all on par-3 holes. The rest of his round included eight birdies, five bogeys, a triple bogey, and an eagle.

Golf journalist Shane Bacon described the scorecard as a “psycho scorecard,” highlighting the rarity of such a performance. He tweeted, “Charlie Woods with an epic psycho scorecard on the @AJGAGolf this week … three pars and they all came on par-3s.”

Despite the unconventional nature of his round, Woods finished the day just three strokes behind the leaders, Tyler Watts and Luke Colton, who were tied at -5.

A glimpse of brilliance

While his scorecard raised eyebrows, Woods‘ performance also showcased his potential. The eight birdies and an eagle demonstrate his ability to make birdies in bunches, a trait often seen in seasoned professionals.

Such flashes of brilliance suggest that with further development and consistency, Woods could become a formidable force in the world of golf.

This event follows Woods‘ notable achievement at the 2024 PNC Championship, where he made his first hole-in-one. His father, Tiger Woods, was present to witness the milestone, underscoring the family’s deep-rooted connection to the sport.

Looking ahead

As Charlie Woods continues to compete in junior tournaments, the golf world will be watching closely. His unique approach to the game and ability to produce remarkable shots suggest that he is a talent to watch in the coming years. While consistency remains a key area for development, Woods‘ potential is undeniable.
