The problems seem endless for Stefon Diggs. Amid uncertainty surrounding his career and ongoing legal issues, the star wide receiver is now facing a breakup and an explosive message from his ex-girlfriend, rapper Cardi B, delivered during one of her concerts.
Although Diggs was a key player in the New England Patriots’ run to Super Bowl LX-where they ultimately lost to the Seattle Seahawks-it appears he no longer has a place on the team.
In a recent interview at the NFL Scouting Combine, Vice President of Personnel Eliot Wolfe declined to speak specifically about Diggs, noting only that the organization is in discussions with several players.
The 11-season veteran’s statistics remain solid, though no longer elite:
- 102 targets
- 85 receptions
- 1,013 yards
- 4 touchdowns
In addition to the uncertain professional outlook, Diggs now also has to deal with the aftermath of an acrimonious split.
Cardi B’s message to Stefon Diggs
Recently, Diggs deleted all posts from his Instagram account. While he briefly uploaded content to his Stories, his page is now completely blank.
This unusual move may be connected to the breakup and Cardi B’s fiery message during a recent performance:
“It’s called principle. You can’t be out here playing with a b*tch like me,” she declared.
There are guys out there praying for a b*tch like me. I’m too sexy to be lonely, and too grown to be played with. You ain’t never had a bad b*tch like this in your life.
The rapper, with whom Diggs shares a son born on November 4, closed her remarks with a scathing line:
“None of those b*tches can f*ck with me.”
Diggs’ legal troubles
Beyond his personal turmoil, the Patriots star is also entangled in legal battles. On February 13, he appeared in Dedham District Court in Massachusetts for his arraignment.
He pleaded not guilty to a felony charge of strangulation or suffocation stemming from a December 2 altercation with his personal chef.
Diggs also faces a misdemeanor assault and battery charge related to the same incident. Although he has denied the accusations, these legal challenges add yet another layer of uncertainty to his future.
