Just last month, Canseco had already used the X platform for a similar attack on Mother’s Day, writing: “Happy Mother’s Day to everyone except you know who, whose first name is a last name that rhymes with fraud.”
The root of this animosity has been a mystery to many, as Canseco has never offered a clear explanation and Rodriguez has rarely responded to the attacks or taken them seriously. Those who do enjoy and laugh at this are his followers and MLB fans in general, as this “feud” is becoming more and more common on social media.

While the comments Canseco makes on social media may seem harmless and only aimed at laughs, on other occasions he has crossed the line and made more serious and delicate accusations.
In 2008, Canseco publicly claimed that Rodriguez had used steroids, an accusation that A-Rod would later admit to. The controversy escalated even further in March 2019, when Canseco involved Jennifer Lopez in his feud, Rodriguez’s then-fiancee. Canseco claimed that A-Rod was cheating on her with his ex-wife, Jessica, writing on X: “Watching World of Dance, watching J.Lo texting Alex Rodriguez, not knowing that he is cheating on her with my ex-wife Jessica. Poor girl, she has no idea who he really is.”
A-Rod opts for silence
One of the most puzzling aspects of this feud is Alex Rodriguez’s lack of a direct and forceful response. Despite the constant attacks and serious accusations, A-Rod has opted for silence, or to publicly dismiss Canseco’s comments, which only seems to fuel the latter’s persistence
