Every time Saul Alvarez issues an opinion, he gives something to talk about. And now he has criticized Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s unbeaten record.
The MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas witnessed Alvarez’s 2013 loss to “Money” Mayweather. Years later, on May 5, 2007, Mayweather Jr. fought and defeated Oscar De la Hoya for the WBC light middleweight title, but for Canelo it was not to be.
In a recent chat with King J, the Mexican boxer shared his thoughts on this fight: “I think Oscar De La Hoya won”, he said.
Mayweather kept his record perfect until he retired in 2017 making 50 wins, 0 losses and won world titles in five different weight classes during his career.
His remarks make it clear that, regardless of time or person, Canelo is not afraid to speak his mind.
