Canelo Alvarez lives rent free in Jake Paul’s head while the Mexican pays him zero attention

It’s no revelation that Jake Paul is always chasing the bag. That was clear as soon as he announced his fight against Mike Tyson, which ended up being a joke in many viewers’ eyes. Glory isn’t his main goal, and he has opted to take a safe approach with many of his opponent choices, so no one truly knows if he’s serious when he calls out Canelo Alvarez.

That’s something he’s been doing for quite some time. Alvarez has barely paid him any attention, seeing right through his facade, but there were reports that a fight between the two nearly came to fruition recently. Alvarez was adamant that he only fights “real boxers“, while Paul took the opportunity to keep saying Canelo ducked him. With both fighters moving on to new opponents, Paul hasn’t let up on his Alvarez onslaught.

Jake Paul calls Canelo Alvarez a “conman”

In a statement about his upcoming bout against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., Paul made sure to get in a dig at Alvarez in the process.

I just defeated the baddest man on the planet, and now I’m going against a former champion who conman Canelo couldn’t finish. Chavez Jr. is Mexican, but I, El Gallo De Dorado, have the will and heart of the great Mexican fighters.

It’s true that Alvarez didn’t stop Chavez Jr. when the two fought in 2017, but Canelo absolutely dominated him, winning every single round on his way to a 120-108 unanimous decision victory. Chavez Jr. was also in a much better physical and mental state back then.

It would not be a good look if Paul doesn’t end up stopping Chavez Jr. in the fight. Meanwhile, Alvarez is completely focused on his own opponent, William Scull. Alvarez is already in Saudi Arabia as he prepares to reclaim all of his super middleweight titles.
