Canelo Alvarez gives Jake Paul marriage advice before hitting him where it hurts

Influencer-turned-boxer Jake Paul recently announced his engagement to speed skater Jutta Leerdam, and incredibly, super middleweight world champion Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez gave some advice to the future husband.

Alvarez began a relationship with Fernanda Gomez in 2016, and the couple has been married since 2021, so Canelo must know something to advise “The Problem Child”.

Canelo and Fernanda have forged a good relationship since then, so the Mexican fighter agreed to give Paul some advice, with whom he has had a verbal war in recent weeks, especially when the Mexican refused to fight against the influencer.

“All the best to him and all the best to his girlfriend. Patience and good love in the relationship”, were the first words of advice for Paul in statements to TMZ Sports.

Paul has had to learn about patience recently, after assuming he was close to being able to face the Mexican champion in the ring, although negotiations eventually broke down.

After the advice came the blow for Paul

When the Mexican was asked if he could ever face Paul in the ring, Canelo Alvarez gave something that surely will not sit well with Paul.

“I never say no, because you never know what happens next, but as an official boxer, no, I don’t think so,” said Canelo.

Canelo’s schedule

The Mexican’s next defense is just around the corner, when he will put his world championship belts on the line in a unification fight against Cuban IBF champion William Scull on May 3 at The Venue Riyadh Season in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Scull (23-0, 9 KOs) comes into the fight full of confidence, but Alvarez expects the same from every boxer he faces.

“It’s a good fight, he’s a good boxer, Cuban style, and it’s going to be a tough fight, but I’ve fought everybody that’s out there, I fight all the styles that are out there and I can adapt to anything,” Alvarez concluded.
