Caitlin Clark’s new “project” with LeBron James has the WNBA buzzing: A photographer fit for a King

Caitlin Clark‘s latest “project” has the WNBA and the sports world buzzing after she spent Wednesday night working as a credentialed photographer for the Indiana Pacers.

Stationed along the baseline in a professional media vest, the 24-year-old playmaker focused her lens on Lakers superstar LeBron James, capturing a series of high-action shots that she later shared with her millions of followers.

The WNBA’s social media team was quick to amplify the crossover moment, sharing images of the guard in her temporary role with the caption, “A photographer fit for a King.”

The collaboration between the two icons-one behind the camera and one in front of it-immediately went viral, garnering millions of views and solidifying Clark‘s status as a multifaceted cultural force.

The project was more than a mere hobbyist’s endeavor; the Pacers provided Clark with a full professional setup, including a monogrammed folding chair and a high-end Sony 70-200mm lens. Clark herself leaned into the creative excitement, posting a black-and-white gallery of James with the simple, confident caption, “The KING Shot by ME.”

The approval was mutual, as James later reposted Clark‘s photography to his own Instagram story, signaling a rare moment of recognition between the “King” of the NBA and the face of the WNBA’s new era.

Professional photographers on-site, including regular Fever documentarian Bri Lewerke, praised Clark‘s “court vision” behind the lens, noting that her ability to anticipate a play allowed her to capture the flow of the game like a natural.

From injury recovery to a creative renaissance

While the photography stint at the Pacers-Lakers game is her most visible project to date, Clark‘s interest in the craft actually began during a challenging 2025 WNBA season.

Sidelined for all but 13 games due to a lingering groin injury and bone bruise, the former Rookie of the Year used her time on the bench to document her teammates and the league from a different perspective.

This creative outlet provided a mental reprieve during her rehabilitation, allowing her to stay connected to the game she has historically dominated from the perimeter.
