Caitlin Clark’s intense recovery attempt went viral after Lexie Hull shared a video that sparked curiosity

It has become increasingly clear that Caitlin Clark did everything possible to return to the floor after an injury sidelined her for nearly her entire second WNBA season. While she was present at almost every game on the sideline-often acting like an extra assistant coach-those efforts weren’t enough to get her back before the season came to an end.

A viral glimpse into an all-in mindset

Still, the work never stopped. Lexie Hull recently revealed that Clark quite literally tried everything in her recovery process. What started, at least in Hull’s mind, as a simple chance to spend time together turned into something much more intense, as part of hanging out with Clark meant stepping into an unfamiliar recovery routine.

Hull shared the moment as part of her new TikTok routine, where she’s posting videos that had been sitting in her drafts and resurfacing unseen moments from the season. One clip quickly caught fans’ attention, not only because of Clark’s recovery method but also because of Hull’s reaction. She paired the video with the trending “What the hell?” audio, reflecting both her surprise and the confusion shared by viewers who had no idea what they were watching at first.

That curiosity only grew as fans realized the method involved hyperbaric oxygen therapy. A hyperbaric chamber is a medical device designed to deliver pure oxygen at increased pressure, allowing more oxygen to reach tissues damaged by injury, illness, or other factors. In Clark’s case, it signaled a clear willingness to explore every possible option to speed up her comeback.

The lengths of a comeback no one saw

The video also stood out because of how complex the process appeared. The chambers themselves looked massive, and the oxygen masks made it seem almost as if both players were preparing for takeoff rather than recovery. Each was placed in an individual chamber, adding to the intensity of the moment and explaining why the clip instantly drew attention online.

Hull, however, chose to approach the experience with humor, framing it as an unconventional but memorable friend date-one that may have paid off in the long run. What seemed strange at first offered a rare look at the behind-the-scenes grind that fans don’t usually get to see.

Clark’s dedication is now being rewarded as she finds herself back in the basketball spotlight. Following her debut with the U.S. National Team, she made it clear she wants to be part of a historic roster filled with young players all fighting to prove they belong on the final team.

Clark has said she feels fully healthy and understands the significance of being part of the Senior Team. Seeing her train alongside players like Cameron Brink, Angel Reese, and Paige Bueckers only reinforces the idea that the work she put in during her recovery is beginning to show real results.

For nearly three decades, the U.S. women’s national team has set the gold standard in basketball, winning eight consecutive Olympic gold medals since the 1996 Atlanta Games. As a new generation prepares to carry that legacy forward, Clark is determined to be part of the group that keeps that dominance alive-proof that every intense recovery choice along the way may have been worth it.
