Browns insider shuts down reports of team and Shedeur Sanders visiting Paris

Whether the Cleveland Browns will play a game in another country remains a complete mystery. After recent reports surfaced about a potential matchup in Paris, France, one of the team’s most reliable insiders has moved quickly to debunk the rumor.

We’re still far from the start of the season and from fully knowing what the Cleveland Browns under head coach Todd Monken will look like, but news surrounding the franchise – which rarely enjoys a quiet offseason – is already beginning to generate buzz.

Will the Browns play in Paris?

A report from RMC Sport dropped what initially felt like a bombshell for Browns fans, claiming Cleveland would face the New Orleans Saints during the 2026 NFL season in France, marking the first NFL game ever played in Paris.

However, longtime Browns insider Mary Kay Cabot has clarified that, internally, no one within the organization is aware of such plans. This directly contradicts the French outlet’s claim that the game would be played on October 25, 2026.

From a league perspective, the Saints appearing on French soil makes sense due to the deep historical and cultural ties between France and New Orleans. Still, the inclusion of Cleveland raises eyebrows – particularly since the Browns already played an international game in London last season, a matchup that coincided with Dillon Gabriel’s NFL debut.

The NFL’s international expansion continues at full speed. In 2025 alone, regular-season games were held in England, Ireland, Germany, Spain, and Brazil. Looking ahead, the Los Angeles Rams are also set to host a game in Australia in 2026.

For now, the idea of the Browns playing in Paris remains just that – an intriguing rumor, but far from confirmed.
