Brandin Podziemski has been taking advantage of the injuries affecting his teammates to showcase himself extensively with the Golden State Warriors. Their misfortune has become his great springboard within the Bay Area team.

He understands that he now has to carry significant responsibility for his squad on the court, and instead of backing down, he leans into the challenge, proving that he embraces adversity and refuses to stop in his pursuit of reaching the highest level.

With the serious injury that has kept the Warriors’ superstar, Stephen Curry, out of action, Brandin has emerged as a key figure for the team. This has been appreciated by fans, who recognize that the place of honor belongs to Curry, but also understand that his active time is gradually diminishing.

As often happens with many young players, confidence can turn into boldness, leading to statements that are later regretted. Fueled by youthful enthusiasm, they can feel invincible and make comments that ultimately expose them.

Brandin Podziemski regrets what he said about Stephen Curry

Before the start of the 2025-26 season, Podziemski felt confident enough to make remarks about what was happening within his team. Those comments, however, did not land well.

The Warriors player made those statements on the Dubs Talk podcast, where he expressed the following:

Can be a household name for the Warriors.

After the reaction sparked by that statement, Podziemski appeared on 95.7 The Game to clarify and soften the situation.

I think I could have worded them a little bit differently, but I also think how it’s perceived on the internet is a little taken out of context.”…”Your biggest strength can be your biggest weakness and I think it’s gotten me to this point and obviously with anything in life, there’s going to be pushback, people aren’t going to like you for what you say or what you do. But I’m just going to stick with it. It’s worked.

Podziemski said.

The 23-year-old player took an important step to quiet the ongoing chatter and make his position clear. He also addressed other interpretations, suggesting that he wanted to be better than Curry.

I think with that it’s just something you strive for, seeing the greatest player at the point guard position, the same position you are.”…”If you have the opportunity to be better than him, obviously anybody would and I think that’s where I was going with that, not that I’m going to be better than him. Just that if I can be, obviously, I would.

He explained to 95.7.

Podziemski has remained consistent since arriving with the franchise, although he is still far from reaching Stephen Curry’s level. He may be on that path, but for now, he remains relatively unknown to fans who do not closely follow the Warriors.
