Patrick Mahomes is steadily working his way back from a serious knee injury, with the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback focused on being ready for the start of the 2026 NFL regular season. After suffering a torn ACL late in the 2025 campaign, the three-time Super Bowl champion faces a demanding rehabilitation process, but early signs suggest progress is being made.

And in the meantime, his wife Brittany Mahomes continues to sizzle while working out in the gym.

Head coach Andy Reid has offered encouraging updates on Mahomes‘ recovery, emphasizing the quarterback’s commitment to his rehab routine.

“He’s around here all the time… 7 hours a day. He’s in there making progress every day,” Reid said, via Chiefs Wire’s Charles Goldman.

“Julie Frymyer makes sure he stays on task and challenges him… It’s not going to be a pleasant thing every day; you’ve got to fight through and attack the challenge of the rehab and workout.”

That relentless work ethic has long defined Mahomes, and it appears to be playing a key role once again. Just weeks removed from surgery, Reid noted that the quarterback is already making notable strides.

“He’s doing great for just being 3 weeks out. He’ll go ahead & most likely stay up here (in KC) rehabbing. He has a lot of trust in (Julie Frymyer). He’s been in there grinding,” Reid added.

Family support plays a crucial role

While Mahomes continues to push through the physical challenges of recovery, his support system remains just as strong.

His wife, Brittany, has been a constant presence throughout the process, balancing family life while also capturing attention on social media.

Recently, Brittany turned heads after sharing a striking all-red workout outfit from the gym. T

he post quickly drew attention from fans, highlighting not only her fitness routine but also her continued support for her husband during a demanding period in his career.

Beyond the gym, Brittany has also offered insight into the personal side of their lives.

In an interview with SheKnows, she opened up about the challenges of balancing family responsibilities. “I just want to be with my kids, you know, 24/7…” she said.

The couple, high school sweethearts who married in 2022, share three children: Sterling Skye, Patrick “Bronze” Lavon III, and Golden Raye.

Their growing family has remained at the center of their lives, even as Mahomes navigates one of the toughest stretches of his professional career.

Fans recently got a glimpse into that family dynamic when Brittany shared photos from a beach and pool outing. The images featured Patrick alongside their children, with their youngest resting on his chest.

Supporters quickly flooded the comments with messages such as “Beautiful photos! Happy vacation!” and “Golden is Patrick’s absolute TWIN,” reflecting the strong connection fans feel with the family.

When will Patrick Mahomes return?

From a medical standpoint, the timeline for Mahomes‘ return remains fluid. Kansas City Chiefs Vice President of Sports Medicine and Performance Rick Burkholder provided a realistic outlook during a December 2025 press conference.

“Every player is different, every sport is different, every position is different,” Burkholder said. “With him, traditionally, he’s going after it. So he’s so in tune with what he does that he does it a little quicker.

“Ballpark on this thing is nine months. It could be a month or two less, month or two more. You never know what goes on.”

As the 2026 season approaches, the Chiefs remain optimistic about their franchise quarterback’s recovery.

While the road back from an ACL injury is never easy, Mahomes‘ determination – combined with the unwavering support of Brittany and their family – could prove pivotal in his return to elite form.
