Andy Ruiz Jr., former world heavyweight boxing champion, has undergone one of the most striking physical transformations in sport in recent years.

The 35-year-old Mexican boxer, who shocked the world by beating Anthony Joshua on June 1, 2019 at Madison Square Garden, has shared on social media his spectacular weight loss.

Andy Ruiz Jr., who broke his hand in his fight against Jarrell Miller and has not fought for 11 months, announces that he is ready to return to the ring.

“The diet is difficult, slow but sure. In process…”, published ‘The Destroyer’, the first heavyweight champion born in Mexico, showing his new figure after losing a lot of weight in recent months.

Andy Ruiz Jr. promised to eat only protein for three weeks while dieting ahead of his return.

For his fight against Miller, the Mexican weighed in at 124 kilos, the second highest of his career. He weighed 118 kilos for his famous fight against Joshua and 125 kilos for the second fight, which he lost.

“I don’t want to say that the three months of partying or celebrating didn’t affect me, because, to be honest, it kind of did. There’s no excuses. The partying got the best of me,” Andy Ruiz Jr said after losing his rematch against Anthony Joshua.
