Antonio Brown mocks Aaron Rodgers after Steelers loss, referencing a famous Christmas movie

The Pittsburgh Steelers’ recent Week 13 collapse against the Buffalo Bills has turned the team into an online spectacle, where even Antonio Brown, never one to shy away from social media commentary, has placed himself right in the middle of it.

Pittsburgh, the franchise led by Aaron Rodgers on the field, fell 26-7 on Sunday, marking its second straight loss in a season that has shown the weakest points of the squad. All of them struggled to find rhythm, but the quarterback’s performances stood out independently, as he finished 10-of-21 for 117 yards while battling multiple fractures in his non-throwing hand.

Antonio Brown’s viral jab

As memes criticizing Rodgers’ performance spread across social media, former Steelers star Antonio Brown added his own touch to the conversation. He compared Rodgers to one of the bandits from the Home Alone franchise, a reference that immediately blew up online bringing the laughs of the public.

Brown tweeted:

“Home Alone 2: Lost in Pittsburgh…”

The joke mirrored the movie title Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, and fans quickly made jokes of it online, adding fuel to Monday morning chatter across the NFL landscape.

Addressig his former team

Brown, drafted by the Steelers in 2010, spent nine years in Pittsburgh, earning seven Pro Bowls and emerging as one of the most productive receivers of his generation. After additional stints with the Patriots and Buccaneers, winning a Super Bowl with Tampa Bay in 2021 for example, he ended up retiring in March 2023.

Since then, Brown has been highly active online takling about football and other lifestyle matters. His comment about Rodgers continued that pattern, hitting at a moment when Steelers fans already felt the sting of their team’s offensive struggles.

Rodgers crucial Week 14 clash

At 6-6, the Steelers now find themselves in a must-win situation heading into Week 14, where they’ll face the equally matched Baltimore Ravens (6-6) at M&T Bank Stadium. With both teams tied in the standings, the matchup could shape the AFC North race.

That is why another one who could announce their retirement too is Rodgers, as he has suggested this could be his final NFL season a few times, making the upcoming stretch even more crucial for Pittsburgh’s playoff hopes.
