TheMajor League Soccer (MLS) could welcome a new world champion, once again demonstrating that it is one of the preferred destinations for top international footballers. This potential arrival could also land at a team that holds a fierce rivalry with Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami.

Antoine Griezmann is back in the MLS transfer rumors. The French forward has a contract that runs until June 2027; however, several clubs around the world have already begun checking on the Atlético de Madrid star’s situation.

The various destinations for Griezmann according to rumors

In recent weeks, there has been speculation that Griezmann could join Rayados de Monterrey in Liga MX, though the Mexican club’s board has denied those reports.

Now, a report from journalist Tom Bogert of The Athletic places the Frenchman as one of the primary targets for Orlando City in the MLS transfer market, with the club having already initiated formal contacts to try to complete the signing.

The board of the team that maintains a classic rivalry with Inter Miami is already in talks, and their sporting director, Ricardo Moreira, has reportedly made several trips to Spain in an effort to convince Antoine Griezmann to move to Major League Soccer.

According to the same report, as of now Orlando City has not finalized the deal and continues to evaluate other options in the market. If the move materializes, Griezmann would join other major stars such as Ricardo Kaká, who played for the club between 2015 and 2017, as well as the Portuguese winger Nani, remembered for his time at Manchester United.
