Anthony Joshua reappears with his mother and the family of his friends who died in the fatal accident

After leaving hospital, Anthony Joshua began his recovery with a duel he must live through: the loss of his two close friends and collaborators, Sina Ghami and Kevin Latif “Latz” Ayodele, who were killed in the car accident in Nigeria. To begin with, he attended the funeral at a mosque in London.

The boxer could be seen sitting with his mother and family, while someone held a framed portrait of Ghami. That image was shared on Joshua’s social media with the caption ‘My brother’s keeper’. This expression is used when someone wants to show that they will support and care for others, taking responsibility for them.

Anthony arrived at London Stansted Airport on Friday night and has been recovering at his mansion.

Sources close to the boxer told the Daily Mail that they fear the damage is more severe than has been made public. The possibility of rib and knee injuries was mentioned by someone close to him, while Nigerian authorities allegedly downplayed the extent of the injuries.

This came after local police reported that Joshua had only suffered “minor” injuries and was “stable”.

At the same time that Joshua is mourning the deaths of Ghami and Ayodele, he will undergo further medical examinations in England to expand diagnoses and rule out risks or address those consequences that were not detected in the first instance in Nigeria.

Anthony Joshua’s hospital stay in Nigeria

The boxer’s mother remained by his side in hospital as he recovered from his injuries. The exclusive clinic has an elite service called Harley Street Practice, located on the sixth floor, which offers Duchess Royal Suites for VIP patients.

The facilities combine exceptional medical care with the luxury of five-star accommodation and privacy. Patients receive 24-hour personalized care and have permanent access to medical and hospitality staff.

They are served gourmet meals, fully tailored to their preferences. Basic packages for the Royal Suite, with private bathroom, start at £2,000.

The detail that saved Joshua from dying

The journey began in Lagos and, at first, Anthony sat in the front seat, but the driver asked him to change seats. He did so because Anthony is a big guy and he couldn’t see well in the rear-view mirror, so he asked him to move and sat behind the driver

Lawyer Olalekan Abiodun told the Daily Mail that before getting into the vehicle, Latif and Joshua swapped seats so that the boxer would be more comfortable because of his height. That last-minute, seemingly inconsequential decision was crucial to Anthony’s survival.
