Alex Rodriguez is one of the most important figures in the New York Yankees of recent years, with 12 seasons since he arrived in the Bronx in 2004, in which he won a World Series title, was twice named the American League Most Valuable Player, won two Silver Slugger Awards and earned seven All-Star selections

This Sunday, A-Rod posted on his Instagram stories a memory from the 2007 season, in a game that the Yankees lost 7-6 to the Boston Red Sox, but in which Rodriguez achieved a milestone by becoming the second Major League Baseball player to hit 12 or more home runs during the first 15 games of a campaign.

“On this day in 2007, Alex Rodriguez became the second player to hit twelve home runs in the first fifteen games at the start of the season when he hit two home runs in the Yankees’ 7-6 loss to Boston at Fenway Park,” reads the image posted by Alex Rodriguez on his Instagram stories.

Alex Rodriguez recommends training baseball fundamentals

With his experience in the Major Leagues, Alex Rodriguez posted a video last week advising future baseball players to train more on their fundamentals.

“I think today’s players have never been better, stronger or faster. What they can do is incredible. I think there’s one thing they have to keep in mind: the fundamentals are not that good. I don’t think they’re being taught well, I don’t think they’re being taught enough,” A-Rod said in the first part of the video.

Afterward, the former Yankees player addressed the difference and acknowledged that nowadays, children play too many baseball games.

“I understand that six or seven games are played a week. Sometimes three or four games are played on Saturdays and Sundays. When I was a kid, we practiced six days a week, so there was more emphasis on fundamentals, practice and perfecting the game a lot more,” Alex Rodriguez concluded in the video posted on his Instagram stories.
