Qatar will host the Finalissima between Argentina and Spain in a month’s time (March 27) and there is concern (or alarm) about this morning’s Iranian attack on Qatari territory.

For now, without wanting to create false controversies, there is nothing to suggest that this will suspend the Finalissima (it is too early), but it is true that the fact that, according to testimonies of Spanish residents in Doha, some missiles have been seen flying over the airspace of the Lusail stadium, where the match will be played, and this is alarming if the conflict continues.

The situation in Qatar is of concern, although it is not experiencing what is happening in other neighboring countries. These missiles are theoretically aimed at the US military base in Qatar, and have so far been intercepted, without affecting the Qatari population at any time.

The Qatari government has issued a reassuring message, but the country’s airspace is closed. No commercial flights are arriving or departing, and the government has warned everyone to stay at home as a precaution.

Let’s remember that Qatar is, like Saudi Arabia or the UAE, an ally of the United States in this multilateral conflict that pits the US and Israel against the Iranian regime.

Let’s remember that this same episode, with the same actors, also occurred in June 2025, although at that time Iran’s missile harassment of Qatar lasted only one day and everything returned to normal the following day. Let’s hope that now the same thing happens
