After Ryan Garcia’s humiliating loss, his rematch with Devin Haney may not happen

In an epic night of boxing in Times Square, New York, Ryan Garcia returned from suspension to headline the event. However, his comeback did not go as planned as he lost a unanimous decision to Rolly Romero, dashing his hopes of a rematch with Devin Haney.

Rolly won decisively, with Garcia being knocked down in the second round by an unstoppable attack from Romero, marking the beginning of an unexpected defeat. Rolly‘s powerful left hooks left Ryan in shock both inside and outside the ring.

Despite his best efforts, the fighter was never able to recover and the fight slipped away from him in a unanimous decision.

Is Ryan Garcia vs. Devin Haney off the table?

The reality is that Ryan was not convinced to fight Haney again. He believed from the beginning that he had already won that fight, despite the doping controversy, but a huge offer from Riyadh Season made him change his mind.

With a rematch with Haney off the immediate horizon, Garcia‘s career could take a more exciting turn.

Conor Benn could be the perfect opponent

Conor Benn is emerging as an intriguing rival for Ryan and could gain momentum if the Haney fight falls through, which is unlikely as both signed with Turki Alalshikh a few months ago, but Garcia‘s loss to Romero could change everything.

Although Benn has shown little interest, the financial appeal could make a fight with ‘KingRy‘ viable. We’ll see how his future unfolds, which is intriguing.

The truth is that Ryan Garcia’s recent loss may be the best thing that could have happened to him in the short term. It would allow him to avoid a rematch with Haney, given his inactivity and the bad patch he is going through.

It might be a better opportunity to build up against more suitable opponents, to regain his confidence before the big challenge of fighting Devin again. Not only is a win at stake, but the pride of all that has happened that has changed his life, for better or worse.
