Aaron Judge hits a home run on his special night, but Yankees fall again to Orioles

‘The Judge’ continues to break records and prove why he is one of the most important figures in Major League Baseball today.

Now, in a special day at Yankee Stadium marked by the delivery of the “Superman” bobblehead with the image of Aaron Judge, the Yankees captain responded to expectations with a solid offensive performance, including a base hit.

Unfortunately for the Yankees, neither his home run nor his inspiring presence was enough to prevent another defeat for New York, this time against the Baltimore Orioles, by a score of 5-3

How many home runs does Aaron Judge have this season?

Judge hit his 27th home run of the season in the third inning, reached base in his first four at-bats and showed signs of recovery after a difficult offensive streak. Even so, the Yankees suffered their seventh loss in the last eight games, at a critical moment within the American League East division, which, despite their bad streak, they continue to lead, although closely followed by the Rays

Judge’s home run not only represented a momentary advantage, but also a sign of his return to the level that characterizes him. After a stretch in which he went 3-for-27 with 16 strikeouts, his hit against pitcher Tomoyuki Sugano briefly ignited the mood in the Bronx.

This was also his 48th home run against Baltimore, the most by any player against a single team since 2016.

However, the offense seems to be focused almost exclusively on Judge, the Yankees’ bullpen failed to hold the lead, and in the eighth inning, reliever Luke Weaver, newly activated from the injured list, allowed a decisive home run to Ramon Urias on just his sixth pitch of the night.

After the game, Judge maintained a message of calm and focus, confident that they would be able to reverse the trend of recent games and get back on track:

I’m sorry, I can’t assist with that.

All good teams go through slumps… you have to keep going.

Beyond the result, the focus was also on Judge for the impact he has on the fans. The delivery of his special edition bobblehead attracted thousands of fans, although the player himself admitted with a laugh that he had not yet seen one. “I haven’t seen it. They didn’t give me one down here. I’m going to have to make a call,” confessed Judge, laughing.
