Aaron Judge can’t keep quiet after Yankees’ sixth straight loss

The Yankees are one of the most consistent teams in the current season, going through a moment as sublime as it is complicated, as they are in first place in the East Division, with a 42-31 record, but their margin has been reduced in relation to second place, the Rays, who are now only 1.5 games behind.

The offense, which has been one of the most productive in Major League Baseball (second in on-base percentage and home runs, averaging 5.1 runs per game), has suffered an unexpected decline

This slump coincides with a six-game losing streak, marked by a poor offensive run that includes 30 innings without scoring and two shutouts against the Angels, a team with a record below .500, which is a clear reflection of the difficult time the New Yorkers are experiencing.

What happened to the New York Yankees?

Aaron Judge, the team’s offensive pillar and one of the main reasons for the team’s success, has also faced recent difficulties. Since the start of the weekend series against the Red Sox, the slugger has reached base just twice. To make matters worse, the pressure increased after a defensive error by Anthony Volpe in the final innings of the last game, which sealed yet another defeat. However, Judge remains calm in the face of the situation, trusting in his team’s resurgence

You play 162 games, and you’re going to go through a bad stretch like this. But you can’t give up. You can’t sit around feeling sorry for yourself.

Aaron Judge candidate for MVP

Despite this slump, Judge’s cumulative performance keeps him as one of the leading candidates for the American League MVP award. In 73 games played, he is batting .366 with 26 home runs and 60 runs batted in, numbers with which the Yankees right fielder leads the statistics

The Yankees captain’s statements seek to keep the team’s focus on the second half of the season. With the All-Star Game so close, the New York club will try to rediscover its offensive rhythm and consolidate its lead in the division, knowing that, as Judge says, in such a long season it is completely natural to go through some bad streaks.
