The recent season has become complicated after a promising start for the Bronx Bombers, to the point that their postseason aspirations have been called into question.

They are currently in third place behind the Blue Jays (65 wins) and the Red Sox (62 wins), and with 60 wins, the Yankees are beginning to fall behind as their playoff hopes, which a few months ago seemed almost a certainty, begin to fade.

Ben Rice breaks his silence and raises his voice about the Yankees’ losing streak

After being swept by the Miami Marlins, a young player broke his silence with a blunt reflection on what the team needs to do to turn things around.

In just his second season in the Major Leagues, catcher Ben Rice takes a stance that many veterans have shied away from and set out to speak honestly about the state of the team.

After the 2-0 defeat to Miami on Sunday, Rice expressed what many fans think:

I think a little sense of urgency would do us good. From here on out, we have to do our best to win games, and that means doing the little things

Those “little things” he’s referring to include defensive errors and mental lapses that have become costly for the Yankees at key moments. Although he has been used as a catcher, first baseman and designated hitter, Rice has also become a voice calling for reaction within the clubhouse.

Yankees open up about what can help them out of season-threatening crisis

With manager Aaron Boone under increasing pressure for repetitive statements after defeats, Rice’s comments come as a wake-up call from within the team.

It is clear that if the Yankees do not react soon, a season that began with high expectations could end in disappointment, while their arch-rivals, the Mets, are in second place in the National League East, tied in wins with the Phillies, which only adds to the pressure on the Yankees

Although the situation in the Bronx is critical, they still have a good margin for maneuver, and it only remains to be seen if by the time they finally get back on track it is not too late.
