The New York Yankees have started the 2025 MLB season with a 6-4 record. It hasn’t been a bad start, but it’s certainly not what the Bronx Bombers would have wished for.

At the beginning of the year, there were some injury problems. Of course, Giancarlo Stanton and Gerrit Cole have not been available to play due to injuries. Another name that has missed the start of the season is right-handed reliever Ian Hamilton.

Aaron Boone hopes to have another “weapon” in his bullpen

While Hamilton doesn’t have the same recognition as Stanton or Cole, he has the chance to be a key piece of New York’s bullpen.

While he has been out for the first 10 games, a new update has shown optimism about Hamilton’s return in the near future.

According to a report by Greg Joyce of the New York Post, Hamilton is expected to come off the injured list on Tuesday.

“Ian Hamilton is also here with the Yankees,” Joyce wrote on X. “He is expected to come off the injured list tomorrow, but Boone said they want to talk today to see how they are before making that decision.”

Hamilton participated in 35 games last season with the Yankees, all as a reliever. He compiled a 0-1 record, a 3.82 ERA, a 1.35 WHIP, a 2.9 strikeout-to-walk ratio, 37.2 innings pitched, one save, 11 holds and one blown save.

If Hamilton can return this week, it could give the Manhattan Mules a nice boost to their bullpen.
