Yankees’ Jazz Chisholm Jr. faces fan backlash after partying with 50 Cent days following playoff blunder

Just days after his defensive miscue ended the New York Yankees’ playoff hopes, Jazz Chisholm Jr. was spotted partying with rappers 50 Cent and A Boogie at a Manhattan nightclub, drawing sharp criticism from fans who haven’t yet recovered from the team’s collapse.

The Yankees’ latest postseason run came to a bitter end last week, when the Toronto Blue Jays clinched the American League Division Series with a 5-3 victory at Yankee Stadium.

The loss extended New York’s championship drought to 16 years, a stretch that has left fans restless and the organization under immense scrutiny.

For Chisholm, the defeat was especially painful. In the seventh inning of the decisive Game 4, with New York trailing by just one run, he botched a routine double-play ball that could have ended the inning.

Instead, his error opened the door for two unearned Toronto runs, the difference in a game that sealed the Yankees’ fate.

“Didn’t think it was going to play the way it played,” Chisholm said afterward. “Been thinking about that since the play happened. Still thinking about it now. At the end of the day, we got to move on eventually. I got three months to move on now. I’m probably going to be thinking about this when the season starts next year.”

From postseason pain to public partying

Yet only a few days later, Chisholm appeared to be moving on a little too quickly for the liking of Yankee Nation.

In a photo shared on 50 Cent’s Instagram, the All-Star second baseman was seen holding a bottle of the rapper’s luxury champagne brand, Le Chemin du Roi, while celebrating alongside 50 Cent and Bronx native A Boogie at the Petite Disco nightclub in Manhattan.

Adding a layer of irony to the moment, Le Chemin du Roi is an official sponsor of the Houston Astros, the Yankees’ longtime postseason nemesis.

The image immediately went viral, with fans flooding social media to express their frustration.

“What the hell is he doing having fun!!!! He’s supposed to be clinically depressed now that we lost!!!!!!” one fan wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“I like Jazz, but just chill a little bit and reflect on the season,” another commented, while a third added, “Can’t even wait a week after the L.”

Others accused Chisholm of lacking accountability after his costly Game 4 mistake. “Jazz looks like he already got over the error,” one critic wrote. Another called him an “embarrassment to the pinstripes,” while one frustrated fan added, “Could be playing tonight if he could hit in the postseason and not make an error in a big spot.”
