After two months of the start of a new season in MLB, things are beginning to take their course in the divisions and leagues, so teams are looking to strengthen and plan new strategies for this second half of the campaign towards the end with an eye on the postseason.
June is the right time to make some predictions this season, but some circumstances have meant that teams have had to modify on the fly. This is the case of the New York Yankees, who will have to bring in a new third baseman after the gruesome injury suffered by Oswaldo Cabrera.
Yankees have their sights set on their new third baseman
Due to these forced changes, the Yankees will not sit idly by and with this new month already underway, they are already thinking about an aggressive change to cover the sensitive loss of the Venezuelan.
Nolan Arenado, currently with the St Louis Cardinals, will be the choice for the Bronx Bombers for this replacement and fits perfectly with the New York team
The now experienced 34-year-old Arenado would have to waive his no-trade clause, but it would be a sacrifice he would make in order to join one of the most powerful teams in the league.
Aaron Judge to keep adding to his tally
One of the best players in the league is living up to expectations and doing what he has been doing in recent campaigns. ‘The Judge’ currently has 21 home runs with a .398 average, so for this second half, greater productivity and better statistics are expected.
The predictions for the slugger this month excite Yankees fans, who are leaders of their division with a five-and-a-half game lead over their nearest rival with 36 wins and 22 losses. Aaron Judge is expected to hit 15 home runs in June.
