Social media has gone wild against the ‘Phillies Karen’ after she stole the ball from Lincoln, a child celebrating his birthday with his dad at LoanDepot Park.
Social media has not yet found the identity of the woman, but her face will most likely not be welcomed in any MLB ballpark.
After this viral incident, we want to remember the worst Karen moments in MLB parks. They are pretty surreal, just like what ‘Phillies Karen’ did.
Woman steals ball from little girl’s hands
During a Houston Astros game in 2011, a woman literally stole a baseball from a little girl’s hands. The woman even celebrated getting the ball with a group of friends and yes, they were all adults.
Fourteen years ago, the term “Karen” for adults with unreasonable behavior had not yet been popularized, but the woman was dubbed the “Evil Woman.”
‘Karens’ are not only women
During a Cubs-Cardinals game in Chicago in 2018, Cubs first base coach Will Venable tossed a foul ball to a boy, but the child couldn’t catch it, and the ball was quickly taken by a grown man.
The man celebrated getting the ball and gave it to a woman he was with, while the boy could only watch from a row in front.
Derek Jeter stops a ‘Karen’ from stealing a ball from a child
It seems that Derek Jeter has a masters degree in how to deal with ‘Karens’ in MLB parks. The Yankees legend was about to give a baseball to a young fan when a ‘Karen’ tried to take it from Jeter’s hand.
Jeter didn’t let that happen and made a young Yankees fan incredibly happy.
‘Karen’ steals ball from a glove
This time, the victim was not a child but a teenager. During a 2011 White Sox-Twins game, a fan caught a foul ball and put it in his glove, like most people do if they bring one to the game.
But a ‘Karen’ saw it and took total advantage, she grabbed the glove and took the ball without even asking.
‘Karen’ kicks 11-year-old boy
This time the ‘Karen’ didn’t steal a ball but actually tried to hurt a child. The young fan was trying to walk back to his seat when a woman had her leg fully extended across the aisle, blocking his way.
The boy waited for her to move, but she didn’t. The woman told him to “step over,” but when he did, he received a kick from behind.
The boy’s response was brutal: “I’m 11 years old, you’re 80. Get a life.”
There have been plenty more ‘Karen’ moments in MLB parks, but these are the ones we most remember.
