Through 26 seasons of the WNBA, 11 different teams have managed to become champions beginning with the Houston Comets back in 1997, who never lost in the Finals before the organization folded in 2008.
Despite making the finals on five occasions, New York Liberty have never managed to win the WNBA championships. But after finishing the regular season with the best WNBA record, they are offered a golden chance this year.
On the other hand, the Minnesota Lynx are tied at the top of the pile for the most titles, which they share with the Seattle Storm and the Houston Comets.
