The WNBA postseason is in full swing, and with the title odds rapidly shifting, one major takeaway for bettors is clear: Las Vegas won’t be defending their championship this year. The reigning champs, the Las Vegas Aces, were knocked out of contention after losing their semifinal series to the New York Liberty, officially ending their bid for a repeat title.
With the Aces out of the picture, let’s dive into the latest odds from FanDuel Sportsbook, as we get closer to crowning a new WNBA champion.
Odds to win the WNBA championship
The New York Liberty are currently the frontrunners to win the 2024 WNBA Championship, with odds at -380. The Liberty’s odds improved significantly from -195 after they secured a victory over the defending champions, the Las Vegas Aces, in their best-of-five semifinal series.
With their ticket to the Finals punched, the Liberty now await the winner of the ongoing series between the Minnesota Lynx and the Connecticut Sun, and they will enjoy home-court advantage when the Finals tip off on Thursday, October 10.
Meanwhile, the Minnesota Lynx’s odds have moved slightly to +490, up from +450, reflecting their strong potential as they continue in the playoffs.
The Connecticut Sun, however, have seen their odds lengthen, shifting from +600 to +1000, making them a longer shot for the title. With these shifting odds, excitement continues to build as the Liberty, Lynx, and Sun vie for the 2024 WNBA crown.
Upcoming Game 5 between the Sun and the Lynx
The Sun and the Lynx finished their first-round series in just two games each. Connecticut dispatched Indiana 93-69 and 87-81. Meanwhile, Minnesota eliminated the Phoenix Mercury by scores of 102-95 and 101-88.
The decisive game of the series will be on Tuesday, October 8, at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
