It’s time to make some predictions about who will be selected first in the NFL Draft, but this time we have Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter, who are practically like brothers, among the possible players who will go in the top five.
Both were commanded by Deion Sanders, and treated by him as sons (although Shedeur is biologically). Now there is a chance for them to compete, and why not…get upset if one is picked first.
Will Shedeur Sanders be upset if Travis Hunter is picked first?
The latest Mock Draft predictions indicate that Cam Ward will go to the Tennessee Titans, and the Cleveland Browns will select Abdul Carter. For a third it looks like Shedeur Sanders will be picked by the New York Giants and Travis Hunter by the New England Patriots; although anything can change.
What if someone from the top four decides to go for the latest Heissman Trophy winner, Travis Hunter? This is just one possibility that could end up being a huge blow to Shedeur’s self-esteem, and Deion Sanders’ pride?…. Of course, as a parent you should hope for the best for your child.
All possible scenarios come into play here, and you have to work psychologically so that this doesn’t set the course for his career.
Shedeur already knows what it’s like to lose to Travis Hunter
“I really don’t get my hopes up, bro,” Sanders said after not being considered among the Heissman finalists. “Honestly, I don’t need another validation to know who I am, so I don’t really care. As long as they give at least one of us the respect we deserve, that’s all that matters to me,” he added in December 2024 on his Podcast.

Travis Hunter was the winner of the individual award, and Sanders took it with great calm and class, but what if on the biggest day of his career he is outclassed? That’s just the scenario we’re contemplating, and it doesn’t sound so far-fetched.
In the history of the University of Colorado only 24 players have gone in the first round, and only three were selected inside the top five; so this will be the first time the program has had two players inside the Top 5 of selections within the NFL Draft.
