Will Joe Burrow want to leave the Bengals for a team he can win a Super Bowl with? Colin Cowherd says so

Joe Burrow, the Cincinnati Bengals’ star quarterback, could potentially demand a trade from the team, according to sports commentator Colin Cowherd. During an episode of The Herd, Cowherd expressed his concerns about the Bengals’ organizational structure and how it might impact Burrow’s future with the franchise.

“The Bengals don’t even have a GM. They don’t have a real GM. The Eagles have 21 scouts on their website. We look, the Bengals have four. So Joe Burrow, to some degree, is trapped,” Cowherd stated. His comments suggest that the lack of resources and infrastructure in Cincinnati could eventually push Burrow to seek opportunities elsewhere.

Cowherd highlighted the Bengals’ struggles despite having some of the NFL’s top talent on their roster. He pointed out that Cincinnati boasted the league’s leader in passing touchdowns and passing yards (Joe Burrow), the top pass rusher in sacks, and a receiver who led in catches, yards, and touchdowns.

Yet, despite these impressive individual performances, the team failed to make the playoffs. “I absolutely think at some point he’ll demand to be traded,” Cowherd added, emphasizing his belief that Burrow might feel frustrated with the team’s inability to convert talent into postseason success.

Bengals’ lack of GM raises concerns about Burrow’s long-term commitment

The Bengals’ lack of a traditional general manager has been a frequent topic of criticism. Unlike many other NFL teams that invest heavily in scouting and front-office personnel, Cincinnati operates with a smaller staff, which some argue limits their ability to build a consistently competitive team. This disparity becomes even more glaring when compared to organizations like the Philadelphia Eagles, who have a robust scouting department and a proven track record of success.

The timing of Cowherd’s comments adds an interesting layer to the ongoing conversation about Burrow’s long-term future with the Bengals. As one of the league’s brightest young stars, Burrow has already proven his ability to carry a team on his shoulders. However, questions about whether Cincinnati can provide him with the support needed to win a championship persist.

Meanwhile, fans are also speculating about the Bengals’ ability to retain other key players like wide receiver Tee Higgins. With salary cap concerns looming, some wonder if Cincinnati will have the financial flexibility to extend Higgins while also keeping Burrow happy. These uncertainties only fuel discussions about what lies ahead for one of the NFL’s most promising quarterbacks and his current team.
