Why have the Pittsburgh Steelers become the first enemy of the Las Vegas Raiders, especially when it comes to Fernando Mendoza?

It’s clear that in order to succeed in the most competitive league in the world, the NFL, teams must find the kind of talent that can take them to the next level. However, that is far from easy, and mistakes often come with serious consequences. That’s why decisions made by general managers must be surgical – one bad move can affect the entire team and even put a career at risk.

There is no doubt that one of the teams that needs talent across all of its units is the Las Vegas Raiders. They finished as the worst team in the NFL last season, which is why, after 19 years, they will once again hold the No. 1 overall pick in the Draft. Since their biggest need is at quarterback, unless something unexpected happens, they are expected to select Indiana Hoosiers star Fernando Mendoza.

Another team in need of talent is the Pittsburgh Steelers. Of course, not to the same extent as the Raiders, but they still need help, especially on offense and particularly at quarterback. For another year, it remains uncertain who will be the starter next season – whether Aaron Rodgers will return or if someone else will arrive via trade, free agency, or the Draft.

The Steelers could have their eyes on a friend of Fernando Mendoza

Having a quality wide receiver is always a huge asset for any NFL team. Among the most talented receivers in this year’s Draft are Carnell Tate, Makai Lemon, and Jordan Tyson. However, during the brilliant season by the Indiana Hoosiers, most of the spotlight went to Fernando Mendoza. Still, Omar Cooper Jr. was simply spectacular and is gaining more momentum every day.

One of the teams interested in the receiver could be the Pittsburgh Steelers. His speed would provide a new weapon for the offense now led by head coach Mike McCarthy. The Steelers’ receiver unit is led by DK Metcalf, and Cooper Jr.’s dynamism and ability to dominate in the slot could be lethal in helping boost an offense that at times stalled.

Omar Cooper Jr. led the Indiana Hoosiers’ passing attack with 69 receptions for 936 yards. With the No. 21 pick in the upcoming Draft, the Steelers could view the dynamic receiver as a great option. Cooper Jr. still has many possible destinations, and the Steelers are just one of them, but it would not be a surprise if he is selected in the first round.

The collapse of the Maxx Crosby trade to the Baltimore Ravens hurt the Raiders in many ways. Las Vegas had two first-round picks and an early second-round selection, which made the possibility of pairing Cooper Jr. with Fernando Mendoza very real. With the trade falling apart, that scenario now becomes more complicated – though not impossible.
