The Los Angeles Dodgers host the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday, October 27, in Game 3 of the World Series. The Blue Jays went too many years without playing in a World Series, so they will move heaven and earth to try to win the MLB title. Florida and Canadian fans are ready to face each other at Dodger Stadium, however, those who are also ready are the players’ partners. Among them is Meghan Murphy, fiancee of Tyler Glasnow.
The Fall Classic was tied after the Los Angeles Dodgers won 5-1 at Rogers Centre in Toronto, Canada, in Game 2, a night after the Canadian team won 11-4 in the first game. Yoshinobu Yamamoto got the win with 105 pitches in nine innings after allowing four hits, one earned run and eight strikeouts to ensure a fifth game in the Major League Baseball title series.
Tyler Glasnow and Meghan Murphy, one of the best love stories in MLB
Glasnow, who began his MLB career with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2016 before being traded to the Tampa Bay Rays two years later, made headlines when he joined the Dodgers in late 2023. While recovering from an injury in 2021, he attended a game in Tampa, Florida, where the pitcher saw Murphy and asked the team’s photographer to focus on her with his camera.
You write to me. I’m not going to write to you
Glasnow wrote his number on a ball and gave it to a bat boy to deliver to Murphy, but the response was not immediate. “He didn’t text me or anything,” he continued. “Then he came back the next day, wrote his number on a ball, came over to the bench and threw it to me. He said, ‘You text me’. I’m not going to text you.’ And I said, ‘How nice‘.”
Since then, Murphy has been seen supporting Glasnow at Dodgers games. Murphy holds licenses and certifications from Florida Health and the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). She currently works as a physician assistant and aesthetic injector “specializing in injectables, threads and lasers” at Marcadis Watt Plastic Surgery & Med Spa.
Game 3 starters Dodgers vs Blue Jays: Tyler Glasnow and Max Scherzer
On Monday, October 27, at 8:00 p.m. ET, manager Dave Roberts will send right-hander Tyler Glasnow to the mound, while the Blue Jays will rely on historic right-hander Max Scherzer. While the careers of the two are far from comparable, Scherzer and Glasnow (and teammate Clayton Kershaw) are the most experienced playoff pitchers on both teams’ rosters.
“I’m looking forward to seeing Max go out on a field and a stage that he knows,” Toronto manager John Schneider said. “We were talking a while ago. He has a very good idea of how he feels, how the game can be and how to react and adapt, so I’ll try to avoid going to the mound with Max tomorrow,” added Schneider, who got a reprimand from his veteran pitcher when he came in the middle of his last outing.
