A regrettable incident occurred during the game between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Miami Marlins, where the ball reached the stands and a father received it to give it to his son. What seemed to be an unforgettable memory for the child, turned into a nightmare, when a woman went to claim the ball and ended up keeping it for herself.

The incident was recorded and the video was broadcast on social networks, generating massive outrage against the woman and a lot of support for the boy who could not fulfill his dream of taking the ball home.

The power of social media

Thanks to the spread of social networks, the boy’s case became public and he was later rewarded. However, the woman did not appreciate the viralization on social networks, as she earned massive hatred.

Nicknamed “Phillies’ Karen”, the woman received a lot of hate on social media and many memes were generated against her.

The identity of the woman is unknown, but she still became famous on social media and unfortunately for her, it has not been positive for her. People branded her as selfish and a bad person, so next time she will have to think better about her actions.

The little fan received his prize

Thanks to the dissemination of the video on social networks, the Marlins were able to remedy the situation and when they learned of what had happened, members of the team’s staff sought out the boy to compensate him.

The young fan received a bag full of Marlins merchandise, including signed baseballs, caps and jerseys, as well as the promise of VIP tickets to a future game, so in this case there was a happy ending after all.
