Nick Mangold, beyond being a former football player, was a husband and a dad. He married Jennifer Richmond in 2007, and together they built a family that reflected the same strength and devotion that defined his career.

Mangold’s story began in Centerville, Ohio, and would come to represent an unforgettable era of New York Jets football. After retiring from the game, he continued to push himself, earning a degree from Ohio State University in 2019.

His estimated net worth reached around $24 million, built through determination and hard work both on and off the field.

Sadly, Mangold passed away at 41 from kidney complications, leaving behind his wife, children, and a fanbase that will always remember him.

A career built on grit and talent

Mangold’s football journey began at Ohio State, where he played for the Buckeyes and was recognized as an All-Big Ten Conference Honorable Mention in 2004. He won the national championship in 2002 and was voted Offensive Lineman of the Week seven times, achievements that cemented his reputation before entering the NFL.

Selected by the New York Jets in the first round of the 2006 draft as the 29th overall pick, Mangold went on to spend 11 seasons anchoring their offensive line. During that time, he became one of the league’s top centers, earning seven Pro Bowl appearances, two First-Team All-Pro honors, and one Second-Team selection.

His talent translated into financial success. In addition to his NFL contracts and performance bonuses, Mangold secured lucrative endorsements and pursued entrepreneurial ventures. He became an ambassador for WynnBet in 2022 and launched his own product line, “Mangold’s 74 BBQ Sauce,” which reflected his personal interests beyond football.

Off the field, Mangold was deeply involved in his community. He coached youth football in Madison, New Jersey, and used his platform to inspire others. In 2025, he revealed his nearly two-decade battle with chronic kidney disease, courageously sharing his need for a transplant.

Tragically, on October 25, 2025, he passed away from complications related to the illness, just days after his public appeal.

Mangold’s legacy lives on through his family, his accomplishments, and the generations of athletes he inspired both on and off the field.
