A17-year-old boy has been charged with stabbing another 17-year-old to death during an altercation at an athletics competition at Kuykendall Stadium in Frisco, Texas.
Frisco police said the incident occurred during the University Interscholastic League (UIL) District 11-5A Championship competition.
According to the police report, Karmelo Anthony, a football player at Frisco Centennial High School, killed Austin Metcalf, an athlete and football player at Frisco Memorial High School, after an argument at the event.
Anthony is being held without bail on a first-degree felony charge.

“The Frisco Police Department deeply regrets this devastating loss and extends its sincerest condolences to the victim’s family, students and staff, who are experiencing unimaginable grief. The department is working with the Frisco School District and will continue to provide them with whatever support they need during this difficult time,” police said.
Students and parents in the Frisco Independent School District expressed their anger and outrage on social media over the violent attack.
“This tragedy has deeply shocked me, my family and my friends. I trust that God will help us through the difficult times ahead,” Metcalf’s father, Jeff, posted on social media.
