Who is Kaitlyn Terrell? The wife of Chargers player Ben Cleveland who will receive a fortune in her divorce settlement

Kaitlyn Terrell Cleveland has emerged in headlines following her high-profile divorce from Ben Cleveland, with court records revealing she is set to receive more than $500,000 in the settlement.

The agreement, filed in Georgia in late January, outlines a $550,000 lump sum payment from the Los Angeles Chargers offensive lineman to his estranged wife as they move toward finalizing their split.

Part of that payout will be applied toward a 2024 Land Rover, which Cleveland agreed she would retain, according to documents reviewed in the case.

In exchange, Kaitlyn relinquished her interest in certain jointly held real estate, allowing Cleveland to keep possession of two Georgia properties.

Cleveland also surrendered claims to various personal belongings awarded to Kaitlyn, including a golf cart, rugs, pillows, bedroom furniture and kitchenware.

Meanwhile, Kaitlyn agreed to return Cleveland‘s gun and thermal scope, reflecting what appears to be a largely negotiated division of assets.

Both parties agreed to cover their own legal expenses and committed to avoiding “any disparaging comments about the other party in any form” or “post anything about the other party on any social media platform.”

A judge has not yet formally approved the settlement, although Cleveland recently filed a motion seeking to expedite that process.

What exactly happened between Ben Cleveland and his wife, Kaitlyn

The divorce was initiated in February 2025, shortly after Cleveland was arrested for DUI, with court documents citing adultery as the reason for the separation.

According to filings, the couple married on July 21, 2022, and separated on December 29, 2024, marking just over two years together.

Kaitlyn later denied the allegations of infidelity in her formal court response, though neither party has addressed the matter publicly.

“We are prohibited by the terms of the settlement agreement from making any public comment,” Kaitlyn‘s attorney, J. Chase Wilson, told The New York Post.

The timing of the filing drew attention, as it followed Cleveland‘s February 12, 2025 DUI arrest, during which his blood alcohol content reportedly measured 0.178.

Though no direct link has been established between personal issues and the arrest, the proximity of events fueled speculation.

Kaitlyn, originally from Glennville, Georgia, graduated from the University of Georgia in 2022 and previously worked in fashion retail, including a role at Red Dress. She and Cleveland met during college and kept a relatively low public profile throughout his early NFL career.

Cleveland entered the league as a third-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, selected by the Baltimore Ravens. He appeared in 64 games for Baltimore before being waived in January 2026 following a three-game suspension tied to the NFL‘s substance abuse policy.

Shortly afterward, the Los Angeles Chargers signed him to their practice squad and later offered a futures contract reportedly worth just over $1 million for 2026.

Despite the financial security tied to his career, the divorce settlement ensures Kaitlyn will walk away with substantial compensation. As proceedings near completion, neither Cleveland nor Kaitlyn has spoken publicly beyond legal statements, and the settlement’s approval now awaits judicial sign-off.
