Who is Alex Cora? All about the Red Sox’s Latino manager

Alex Cora was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 12th round of the 1993 MLB Draft, but chose to study and play baseball at the University of Miami, where he guided the Hurricanes to three consecutive College World Series appearances, where he was named by Baseball America as the best defensive player in college baseball in 1996.

From 1998 to 2011, he played in Major League Baseball with teams such as the Los Angeles Dodgers, Cleveland Indians, Boston Red Sox, New York Mets, Texas Rangers and Washington Nationals, among other clubs.

Before becoming an MLB manager

In 2013, he joined ESPN as a studio analyst and became the Astros’ bench coach in November 2016, earning his second championship ring with the 2017 World Series victory
