Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, has always had the support of her parents, and although she doesn’t often discuss her family in the spotlight, it’s clear that her parents have played an influential role. So who are they?
Diana Lindenberg and Scott Matthews divorced when the 29-year-old was young but they managed to co-parent effectively despite living in different parts of Texas, with Diana in Whitehouse and Scott in Dallas, split by around 113 miles via Interstate 20.
But both parents supported Brittany’s aspirations and endeavours, including her professional soccer career that saw her head all the way to Europe to play for the Icelandic women’s soccer team UMF Afturelding/Fram.
Through the mammoth trip across the Atlantic, Brittany’s family continued to cheer her on, sharing in her passion for fitness and football.
This enthusiasm intensified after Brittany married Patrick Mahomes, and the couple started their own family. Diana and Scott, now grandparents, have embraced their evolving roles with pride and joy and can often be celebrating the latest generation in their homes.
Brittany’s close connection to her parents
Brittany grew up with her brother Devin, who chose a different path in life; but ultimately they had to watch their parents split up, although it’s worked out for both parents since.
Scott remarried, though not much is known about his second wife. Diana, on the other hand, remarried soccer coach Paul Massey, whom Brittany was very close to before his passing in 2018. Diana later married Lance Lindenberg, her current partner.
Brittany and her mother are both passionate about health and fitness and have aligned career paths in the industry.
Brittany, a certified personal trainer and entrepreneur, runs Brittany Lynne Fitness and co-owns the Kansas City Current women’s soccer team whilst Diana has worked as a physical therapist assistant since 2021 and has been in the field for many years.
And despite Scott’s son-in-law being a three-time MVP and Super Bowl champion with the Chiefs, he still holds a soft spot for the Green Bay Packers, a sentiment Brittany once shared, as seen in an Instagram post from 2013 as they bonded over football.
However, her allegiance now firmly lies with the Chiefs, especially after attending a Packers-Chiefs game in December 2023.
