The world news this Thursday is the appointment of the new Pope following the death of Francis I, who is now succeeded by Leo XIV.

Robert Prevost, the name of the new pope, is a baseball fan born in Chicago and there seems to be some dispute as to which team he supports in the city: the Cubs or the White Sox.

“He never was a Cubs fan. I don’t know where that came from. He was always a Sox fan,” he told WGN, a Chicago television station, adding that their mother was a Cubs fan, while their father supported the St. Louis Cardinals.
